I could probably do a big ol’ update on how I am doing lately.
I do not want to at the moment.
Instead I think I will share some art–
October is famous for a number of things, one of which is a phenomenon called Inktober. I do not participate in Inktober, but the concept started as a series of daily prompts to make art with.
Nowadays there’s a NUMBER of these -tober challenges floating around for a shitton of mediums.
I found one called Cringetober a year or two ago and I love it. The prompts I use are by icryink on tumblr! I won’t explain the concept of cringe here but I will say I am of the DEEP opinion that in order to embrace whimsy in a hypercritical world, one has to accept and embrace cringe. It is cringe to be authentic when you’re viewed from every angle at all times.
Anywho; I have been trying to at least get a doodle done a day from the prompt list I found on Tumblr. And now I wish to share my art here. Since this is my website and all.
Day 1 was probably done a little bit wrong; isekai is a genre of anime where the protag is somehow brought to a world that is not their own (whether reincarnated or summoned, whatever). I decided to throw one of my OCs into Hyrule.
Day 2 was a chance for me to try to render metal I GUESS. The trumpet (affectionately named the Doot of Doom) itself is meant to be the weapon.
I chose an old art meme for the outdated trend; of course, the trend is only from 2023, but some would say that’s enough time to pass to be ‘outdated’. The characters from left to right are Sampo Koski and Boothill, both from Honkai: Star Rail.

So I already had an OC that I heavily took inspiration from the sparkledog aesthetic to design! This is Tox, I added some extra baubles to try and further crowd his design. I am not good at crowding designs!
I have long said that Vash the Stampede (Trigun), Boothill (Honkai: Star Rail), and Billy (Zenless Zone Zero) exist on some kind of spectrum, so I decided to make ANOTHER meme.
Album cover redraw immediately means “put an OC into Evanescence ‘Fallen’ cover PRONTO”. Fun fact; Kay here was one of my earliest persona/self-insert style characters, like, ever.
Species swap!! I kind of cheated probably; the circus members in The Freak Circus are human enough that it’s hardly a change to make them actually human. But I also designed an OC to stand in as the player character who is then swapped into a circus member. As a treat. The character I made human was Pierrot.
